Milestone
In June, we established and commenced operations, building the foundation from a single warehouse.
2016:
In March, we introduced the first proprietary product – Classic Grid Notebook (Fountain Pen Friendly).
In May, be invited to participate in the Taipei Arts Festival Market.
In August, engaged in a PR sponsorship event for the film “Love Letter” by Coca-Cola, attended by Japanese actress Miho Nakayama.
In September, be invited to join the market event at the Huashan Reading Festival.
In December, be participated in the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Living Festival market event.
2017:
In April, joined the Pinkoi Good Market.
In April, awarded the 1617 Rotary Club Welfare Crane Award.
In July, be invited to visit the Japan ISOT International Stationery Exhibition and showcase collaborative products developed with Japanese company Logic.
In August, established the first self-operated store in Taipei’s Eslite Spectrum Songyan Store.
2018:
In February, participated in the Taipei International Book Exhibition.
From March to May, collaborative projects with stores for the Pinkoi Contemporary Art Exhibition.
In July, interviewed by Japanese magazine Maple Plus in April, with the first edition distributed in Japan.
In May, sponsored the graduation performance of the English Department at Soochow University.
In June, awarded the Rotary Club Special Contribution Award for Public Welfare.
In August, Participated in the filming project for the Taiwanese movie “Detention Point”.
2019:
Japanese Tsutaya’s President visited multiple times from January to June, receiving recommendations from Tsutaya’s Business
Headquarters and initiating market expansion in Japan.
2020:
Collaborated with Tsutaya and “Demon Slayer” to launch co-branded notebooks, sold locally in Japan.
Collaborated again with Tsutaya and “Doraemon” to launch co-branded notebooks sold locally in Japan.
Invited to film promotional content for the Love Taiwan Museum in March.
2021:
In April, be invited to the opening of the Pinkoi flagship store.
In May, expanded operations and relocated the company to the Far Eastern Century Plaza complex.
2022:
Shopee Creative Hall opened, and we were invited for an interview as a representative of local cultural and creative sellers.

The inception of Leatai Journals marked a challenging beginning, brought to life by a group of young enthusiasts passionate about planners and journals. We aim to inject fresh creativity into the gradually fading traditional industry, revitalizing Taiwan’s once-proud sector.
While Leatai is a relatively new name, it possesses a resilient old soul rooted in the craftsmanship legacy since the early 1980s.
The primary founder of Leatai has been involved in the business of business journals since childhood. From initial subcontracting to taking direct orders, he navigated the trends of various decades, designing custom notebooks for clients through the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. Hence, even in the industry’s busiest seasons, children were actively contributing, spending winter days helping at home—a productive period for the industry.
Over several decades, the scars from machine cuts on hands became valuable experiences. Witnessing the birth of each custom journal at home, a realization emerged: these notebooks have been our companions for so long, and while they must be practical and functional, why not infuse them with elements we enjoy?
